Learn How to Display Your Collection – Monthly Workshops
From February to July 2017, the WAPC held a series of free monthly workshops to assist collectors who wished to learn how to display their collections.
The 2017 workshop series has now finished, but it is intended to hold another workshop series in 2018. Watch this page for updates!
The workshops were held on the second Saturday of each month,
from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at:
Philatelic House
Unit 18, Wellington Fair
40 Lord Street
EAST PERTH
(free parking was available in nearby Moore Street).
Workshops focused on collectors who were new to the process of mounting material on to pages, but were open to all levels of collector / exhibitor – because everyone has something to learn!
Participants did not need to register attendance beforehand – they simply turned up on the day.
The interactive workshops allowed for one-on-one or small group activities. Collectors with more exhibiting experience were able to help those just starting out.
Attendees were encouraged to bring along their own materials, but materials were also provided.
Workshops were of a practical nature and complemented the annual exhibiting workshop conducted by Ross Wood.
It was envisaged that the first 20-30 minutes of each session would be devoted to discussion of a topic, with the remaining time being ‘hands-on’.
For the first workshop in February, participants were able to discuss which aspects of exhibiting they would like to see covered by the program. Subsequent workshops then focused on those aspects.
